This is a full transcription of the guitar and bass parts on Sarah Vaughan’s wonderful recording of the Blues standard “Baby Won’t You Please Come Home”, which recently turned 100 years old. This song had its breakthrough with singer Bessie Smith in 1923 in a piano-voice version. This Jazz version is an energetic swing arrangement: The song modulates up twice and even changes groove midway through. The guitar-bass duo swing wonderfully, and both instrumental parts are full of instrumental ideas. Enjoy!
