This is a complete transcription of the guitar part on the “official video” version of the tune “The Layers”. This music video performance dropped at the same time as the album version of the song, which announced the release of The Layers EP – a surprise spin-off from the View with a Room album recording session. Since this version is a trio setup, without Bill Frisell accompanying, like in the album version, Julian Lage instead adds harmony, which really sets it apart from the album version, and exposes something like the chord voicings of the original composition.
