This is a transcription of the instruments listed on “São Jorge”. This a classic of his repertoire that opened his great 1978 album and remained on his touring set list for many years. The composition is a fabulous display of his great talent for writing melodies that can drive the music forward – notice how the two-chord vamp is going nowhere in that regard (in stark contrast to the album’s subsequent tunes!). The recording also demonstrates his playful vision of music, in contrast to the more serious and polished ideals. Enjoy!
