This is a complete and thorough transcription of this alternate version of “Visa från Utanmyra”, which was recorded two years after the popularly-known original version. This recording was not published until the reissues of the album four decades later, but it is an absolute must-know for jazz pianists. This later version is a surprisingly different and hip interpretation, featuring a 2-minute long jazz-piano solo. This genre-bending interlude diverges into advanced harmonic concepts that were at the forefront of Jazz at the time, all of which bleeds into the final chorus. Enjoy!
