song: Call of the Canyon (Live in Bristol)
artist: Julian Lage
concert: Live at the Bristol Beacon (22nd of November 2024)
writer: Billy Hill (1942)

steel-stringed acoustic guitar: Julian Lage

This is a complete transcription of the acoustic solo recording of “Call of the Canyon” (Live in Bristol), which was played as an encore, closing the concert as it closed the Squint album. In this relaxed performance, Julian Lage manages to boil the arrangement’s parts down to just one guitar, which is great practice for beginner-intermediate guitar players to replicate. He also makes great use of chord extensions in his single-line improvisation, which is a Jazzy sound heard only too rarely on the acoustic guitar. Enjoy!
