This is a classic-jazz style recording of the 1930s jazz standard, “I’m Getting Sentimental over You”. The Julian Lage trio’s arrangement is probably a nod to Jim Hall’s 60s-styled rendition (see the video below). Despite the roots in classic jazz, this also features Julian Lage’s very modern soloing; he plays around with timing and quirky dissonance in his idiosyncratic style. Enjoy!
