This is a transcription of the lead guitar and the bass part on “Night Shade”. In the promotion text, Julian Lage writes that this tune was originally composed for the Arclight album (2016), but never made it into the recording studio before this quartet rendition a decade later. This is a slow E-minor ballad with a relatively simple chord progression. In great contrast to that is the highly refined changes in groove and dynamics that really shows how much great musicians can do with such a simple composition. Enjoy!
